Evening Engineering Club
Monday and Wednesday evenings — volunteer-led motor mechanics, engineering and Greenpower F24 electric racing.
An Evening of Engineering
Our hugely successful evening sessions run every Monday and Wednesday, led by inspirational and dedicated volunteers. Young people are given the opportunity to explore motor mechanics and engineering topics in a relaxed, supportive environment.
Working to the same 1:3 tutor-to-student ratio as our daytime courses, the young people develop their mechanical knowledge with practical applications, as well as increasing their self-confidence and teamworking skills.
There is no referral criteria for our evening sessions — young people aged 14 to 16 across Surrey are welcome to join. Demand has grown steadily since GASP’s earliest days as a small evening youth club in 2005, so we’d encourage early enquiry to secure a place.

Design. Build. Race. Win.
In addition to the mechanics curriculum, evening students design, build and race Greenpower Education Trust F24 electric race cars. The teams decide on gear ratios, body shape and aerodynamics — then compete!
⚡ Greenpower F24
Students build and race F24 electric cars. The teams work on specifications, body shapes and aerodynamic design, blending engineering, maths and teamwork.
🏁 Race Events
The teams race several times a year at Dunsfold, Goodwood and Duncton.
🏆 International Finals
GASP's Greenpower teams have had the opportunity to race at the iconic Goodwood circuit.
Fees
Our evening engineering club costs just £5 per session, but if your family is facing financial hardship we may be able to offer a discount.
Our Volunteer Team
GASP is extremely fortunate to be supported by an exceptional team of volunteers who give their time to lead our evening sessions. Many bring professional engineering or motor mechanics backgrounds, alongside a genuine passion for mentoring young people.
Our volunteer team acts as positive role models — supporting, advising and guiding students as well as teaching practical skills. Find out more about volunteering with GASP.
Safeguarding & Policies
All GASP volunteers undergo Enhanced DBS checks and safeguarding training before working with young people. Our evening sessions follow the same safeguarding, health and safety, and equality policies as our daytime courses. View our full policies.
