Volunteer With GASP
We are always looking for volunteers with engineering, mechanics or relevant skills to join our inspirational team.
Become a GASP Volunteer
GASP is extremely fortunate to be supported by an exceptional team of volunteers, who give their time to support both our evening and daytime sessions. Led by inspirational and dedicated individuals, volunteers help young people explore motor mechanics and engineering topics.
Working to the same 1:3 ratio as our paid tutors, volunteers help young people develop their mechanical knowledge with practical applications, as well as increasing their self-confidence and teamworking skills.
The GASP volunteer team act as positive role models and mentors. Many of the young people with whom the team work have additional learning and social, emotional and mental health needs — and all are treated with equal care and respect.
What the Students Say
“Thank you so much for the volunteers — what they do is literally life changing for us!” Evening Student
“Jacob absolutely loved it. He hasn’t stopped smiling. It’s exactly what he has been wanting to do.” Emma – Evening Parent 2026
What Volunteers Do
🔧 Engineering Sessions
Lead or assist hands-on motor mechanics activities with groups of young people. Share your professional skills and knowledge in an informal, supportive environment.
⚡ GreenPower Racing
Help young people design, build and race GreenPower F24 electric karts. From gear ratios and aerodynamics to race day pit crew — every skill counts.
👥 Mentoring
Act as a positive role model. Many of our young people simply need someone to believe in them and encourage them to aim higher.
📋 Administration
Help with admin, communications, fundraising events or other support roles — not all volunteering has to be in the workshop.
Express Your Interest
If you have engineering, mechanics or relevant professional skills and would like to volunteer with GASP, we’d love to hear from you.
