Policies and Reports
Our safeguarding, health & safety, equality and governance policies.
Impact Report
Our latest Impact Report sets out what GASP achieved this year, in detail, alongside our financial accounts.
Safeguarding
Safeguarding the welfare of the young people we work with is GASP’s top priority. All GASP tutors and volunteers are subject to Enhanced DBS checks before working with students, and receive regular safeguarding training. GASP works with expert organisations for the provision of mental health youth workers and behaviour management support, ensuring students who need additional care receive it.
Our Board of Trustees has allocated specific responsibility for safeguarding to designated Board members, and our policies are reviewed regularly to ensure they continue to meet best practice across both our workshop and mobile classroom operations.
Health & Safety
Motor mechanics and engineering activities involve tools, machinery and vehicles, so health and safety is embedded into every GASP session. All students receive health and safety induction as the first topic of any course, covering workshop tools, materials and equipment. Our tutors maintain a 1:3 ratio to ensure every student is properly supervised, and all activities take place within a focused, personalised and disciplined framework.
Equality & Inclusion
GASP welcomes young people from across Surrey and its borders, regardless of background, ability or circumstance. There is no referral criteria, and our tutors are trained to work with students who have a broad range of abilities, challenges and strengths — including those with specific disabilities, social, emotional and mental health needs, or who are otherwise vulnerable and disaffected.
Ethical Fundraising
GASP is registered with the Fundraising Regulator and follows the Code of Fundraising Practice. We are always open, honest and fair with our supporters and donors — respecting their privacy, protecting vulnerable donors, and ensuring every gift is used for the purpose it was given.
Memorandum & Articles of Association
GASP Motor Project was incorporated in the United Kingdom as a company limited by guarantee on 26 February 2009, and registered as a Charity on 18 March 2009. It is regulated by the Charity Commission for England and Wales, established under a Memorandum of Association, and governed under its Articles of Association. All Trustees give their time voluntarily and receive no benefits from the Charity.
